Types Of Door Hinges
When you are almost done remodeling your home, take some time to review the main changes you have made. If you haven't already, you will soon realize that door hinges must also be changed, as to match the new designs in your house. Although they might seem to be simple elements that only help you open and close the doors, it is very important to choose the best ones out of the multiple choices available in stores. There are a few types, such as the concealed door hinges, also called European, which are completely hidden from the sight, then, the semi concealed door hinges which have a half mounted on the back of the door, the other being visible. The surface mounted door hinges have both their leaves attached in such a way that they can be seen from the front of the door. There are also hidden versions of surface mounted hinges, in which case they are easily covered by the door case. Overlay or inset door hinges are the type that you would probably not use for regular doors, but for cabinet ones, as they have wrap hinges that fasten to the back of the door and the back of the side panels. Finally, the type of door hinges that is perhaps the most common is the one called pivot, which pivots at two points instead of along a hinge pin as the others. This type comes in different styles and designs and most people choose to use it not only for room doors, but also for cabinets, cases and so on. Once you have reviewed these types of door hinges, and many others available, you will discover that your remodeling is far from being over and that the things you previously considered insignificant, can give you a headache.
